Chris Reader is a military veteran and fabricator with 20 years of experience designing and building vehicles and vehicle-related products for real-world use. After training as a welder and spending a decade in the military, Chris built a career turning ideas into reliable, abuse-ready hardware that works in harsh environments.

Before launching Flat Fender Customs, Chris hosted and built on the YouTube channel VetBuilt and worked as a TV host, creating how‑to content that helped everyday enthusiasts understand the “why” behind each cut, weld, and part choice. That mix of shop-floor experience and media work is what drives FFC today: honest, trail-proven fabrication paired with clear, no‑BS storytelling.

Through Flat Fender Customs, Chris focuses on long-term partnerships with brands and on builds that get used, not just filmed. His goal is simple: create content and components people can trust, because they were built, tested, and refined by someone who actually wheels what he builds.
